Senate Vote on Alberto Gonzalez
Please take the time to email or call your Senators this a.m. and urge them to vote against Alberto Gonzales becoming Attorney General of the United States for the following reasons:
1. He helped George Bush avoid jury duty on a DUI case. Not a big deal, until he committed perjury in front of the United States Senate by lying about it.
2. His memos justifying torture show a fatal moral weakness of character.
3. He has written that the President can, unilaterally, void international treaties to which the United States is a signator. This violates the Constitution of the United States of America--the document he will swear to uphold as Attorney General.
Thank you.
