Random Thoughts; Request For Prayers

Still working on getting the photos from the laptop to the desktop. I guess you can tell I don't have airport wireless. At one point I did have the two macs set up as an ethernet LAN but somehow I managed to screw that up and to be quite frank, I'm not sure how. The upshot though is that cute photos are on the laptop and I blog from the desktop.

It looks like I am going to be getting a new iMac G5 at some point in the forseeable future. I'm not exactly sure of details yet, but the desktop just lost its CD-R capabilities and the ability to burn CD's of baby photos for parents in Colorado is mandatory.

I did want to say thank you for all the kind words and encouragement that I am getting from you folks. It is appreciated. Things are settling down a great deal. Anwen is a relatively easy baby; I am enjoying her immensely. We don't know what happened Sunday into Monday; why she cried all night, but thankfully there has not been a repeat performance. She sleeps peacefully most nights waking only to feed. In fact, for six of the seven nights she has been alive it has been that way so thus far the law of averages looks good.

I am somewhat jealous of Laura. It is obvious that breastfeeding is an extremely intimate time for the two of them and I do feel left out. Nothing to complain about, that is simple biology. Try as I might I just don't lactate and if I did I would quit my day job in a second and get a career as a freak on some sleazy internet pornsite: Milky Male Mams or something. But I watch Laura and the baby and I feel that even as my eyes are on them they are developing a kind of spiritual intimacy and I am not a part of that.

Anyway, life is good and I am blessed.

I do want to ask, for those of you willing, to please send healing energy to my friend Jewel. Yesterday she was hit by a speeding, uninsured teenager in another car. It totalled her car and she got really banged up, bruised and beaten by the wreck. Thanks to modern auto safety standards, brought to you by the Democrats, she is okay. But if you would take a second to pray for her or wish her well, I would appreciate it. Jewel is a wonderful person and I pray she recovers rapidly.
