Why Higher Education Is Going To Hell

It's the Catholics. They invented it, now they have decided that so much of science contradicts the church, they have decided to dumb it down. My friend Robbie provides evidence of the dumbing down. Actually, that's unfair. It is nationwide, it's not just Catholics (although it is fun to pick on them). My father was a professor long before Robbie was a professor and he noticed a decline in standards over his many years of teaching. I believe they are both right; expectations have been lowered, standards in education at all levels have declined and there is a mentality of just process the students through.

It is interesting because one can find many theories why. Some say it's multiculturalism, that the minorities drag down the whities. Aside from being blatantly racist and simply untrue, it ignores the fact that by that theory Asians should drag the whities up, or do whities drag Asians down?

Me, I believe there are two factors at work. First, as a culture we are fat and lazy. Second, the corporations have decided it would be easier if there were only two classes: workers and owners. Workers don't need to be educated. No, I'm not a Marxist. I just think companies, who really control what is going on, are very annoyed at informed workers and consumers. They prefer we work, shop and watch TV. They have less trouble managing us then.
