Surgeon
I'm going to see an orthopedic surgeon today. No cutting will take place today, at least not as I understand it. He is just going to have a look at the MRI and talk to me about it. I have been reading about the exercises that might allow me to avoid surgery and I am not sure they would work for me because they are aimed at problems with the lumbar spine or lower back. My problem is with the cervical area; the upper back. But what do I know?
I am getting a glimpse into how even insured people windup defaulting on their medical bills or declaring bankruptcy. I have pretty decent insurance (or at least what passes for it in recent days) and I am responsible for the $1,000 deductable and 20% after that. Which is why I am going to try to convince the surgeon that he should really do spinal surgery as an outpatient procedure. I have a feeling the answer will be no. The cost does frighten me.
As an aside on a different topic: apparently Supreme Court Justice Scalia thinks that I am a second class citizen because of my religious beliefs. Maybe there is something to Rep. Tom Delay and Sen. John Cornyn's suggestion that we use violence to curb judicial activism...
Oh, I see... activism against me and my beliefs is okay, activism against their beliefs is wrong...
Okay, now that I have that straight...
