A Modest Proposal
What I don't understand about this child torture case is why we are jailing Linda and John Dollar. These folks represent the American ideal, they are devout Christians who have devoted their lives to raising unwanted children.
It seems to me that a much, much better solution would be to allow the Dollar family to participate in the care of the inmates at Gitmo. According to all reports, they have the skills needed to effectively manage the detainees:
Five of the couple's seven adopted children, ages 12 to 17, told Florida investigators they were tortured by the couple, subjected to electric shocks, beatings with hammers and having their toenails yanked out with pliers.
A search of their home Friday revealed an electric cattle prod, sticks, belts and a vise that were allegedly used in the acts. The abused five had physical injuries supporting their claims and were so severely malnourished that they weighed no more than elementary school children, authorities said.
It just seems a shame to let such natural talent for DOJ approved interrogation methods languish in some Florida prison when it could be constructively applied to Homeland Security.
One can only imagine the answers they would get to questions like: where are Saddam's weapons of mass destruction? What is the connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq? Waterboarding is too good for the detainess, we need to treat them with the love and disclipline that we show our own children.
Since we are willing to let soldiers, civilian contractors and even medical doctors commit, aid and abet acts of torture by our government, I don't see why we even bother to prosecute child abuse.
As a nation we have turned our backs on the dreams and aspirations of our founders, we have abandoned the gentle council of Jesus of Nazareth, we have destroyed all standards of decency. I don't want to hear fucking shit from any goddamned conservative about family values. You hypocrites have none. It is your hell, go burn in it.
