Paper

  • Cast of a claw of a Utahraptor
  • Do any of ya'll remember those articles in the early '90's predicting that over the next 10 years or so, the amount of paper that is generated and used would decrease dramatically because of computers? How we would stop reading paper in favor of computer screens?

I cannot speak for you buy my experience has been that paper usage seems to have increased. Right now I am looking around the study and it is a disaster and most of that disaster is comprised of loose bits of paper that I think I should save for some reason. Everything seems to require a ton of paper: grocery reciepts, bills, notes to self, mailings from Robert Redford to save the environment, letters from Exxon to pave the environment, insurance papers, sticky notes. books and even gift cards. It is driving me nuts. Every time I clean up the mess it reconstitutes itself rapidly out of scraps of paper.

I was wondering if a socialism would help eliminate this massive amout of paper because a significant chunk of this garbage is advertising. But I realized I woud trade in the crap I get from private companies for government generated crap, so I bet there would be no difference.

Okay, rant over. That was boring. I'll try to discuss something interesting next time like anal sex or kilts, okay? Take care.
